The Adolescent Advisory Board consists of teens from all 14 Washington County school districts and one Greene County district. High school students meet monthly at The Washington Hospital and provide curriculum guidance, perspectives on teen culture, and creative vision for the Outreach.
Advisory Board members have created educational information for their peers on date rape, STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and abstinence. During the 2009 - 2010 school year they hosted a youth conference at Washington and Jefferson College that includes Speed Learning. Advisory Board members selected ten pertinent topics and presented them to 9th grade attendees from community high schools. Pre and post testing is currently being tabulated.
During the 2010 - 2011 school year the Board will address the topic of Sexting with their peers.
