Teen Outreach Schools 2006/2007
A teacher affects eternity;
he can never tell where his influence stops Henry Adams
Our primary goal at the Academy
for Adolescent Health is to provide dynamic, creative health education
through interactive teaching tecniques with a focus on acheiving
behavioral change in young people that leads to healthy outcomes.
Parents and guardians are our main partners in reaching that goal.
Affecting healthy change without the efforts of caring adults in
the lives of our students is challenging indeed. To that end we
enlist parents and guardians as the foundation for our education.
Parents are invited to frequent Teen Outreach sponsored parent information
nights, educational forums and updates. Parents and guardians must
sign permission forms to allow their children's attendance in our
programs. We are always open to questions or comments from parents,
and can be reached at our office at 724 222 2311 (toll free 1 (888)
301-2311.
Equally important to our mission
is collaboration with our partner schools. The following information
applies to all our participating schools. Individual schools may
access their own pages by clicking on the school's name in the table
to the left. Each webpage will detail our professional staff's responses
to the unique cultural needs of each district.
Notes for individual school districts:
1. A click on your district in the sidebar will open your Vital
Connections Welcome page. You may access this page to obtain information
specific to your school district (for e.g. - RN/Educator name,
email contact, and phone number).
2. Permission slips will be available (PDF format) as soon as
our RN Coordinators arrange teaching dates with school staff.
Click on Permission Forms as needed to obtain originals of any
document.
3. Outlines for both our POWER (middle school curriculum) and
our Postpone, Prevent, Prepare (high school curriculum) Programs
will be available.
4. A summary of student feedback will be on line at the end of
the school year.
